Bruton Translations began operations in 2007 in Durham, North Carolina, specializing mainly in Spanish translation and interpretation services in the Triangle area. The company entered the Austin, Texas, market in 2011 and now covers many languages for area businesses, educational institutions and individuals. Owner Chris Bruton holds a B.A. in English from Duke University and has worked as a professional translator since 2005. He is certified as a Spanish medical interpreter and Spanish-English translator. Through his years of experience in the translation field, Chris has assembled a highly competent staff of interpreters and translators. His function is to ensure that the highest quality translation and interpretation--in every language--is delivered to our customers professionally, punctually and at a reasonable price. A native Texan originally from Austin, Chris currently lives in San Antonio.
Jose Ignacio Ocaña, manager of our North Carolina office, is a native of Spain and graduate of the University of Cordoba. His translation experience includes medical and medical research projects, medical interpretation, and diverse legal, corporate and community-based translations. He has also developed and taught medical interpretation classes at Durham Tech Community College and interpreter/translator professional development workshops in the Triangle area. Jose resides in Durham.
A French native, Max Cidon is a French-to-English and English-to-French translator and interpreter. Following his graduation from the Institut Charles V in Paris with a bachelor degree in English, he made several countries his home before settling in Austin in 2005. Over the years he has translated for many companies and organizations in various sectors and has been an in-house translator for companies such as the International Institute of Refrigeration and the Weider Publishing group. In addition to his translation work, he regularly teaches French and Spanish.
